Your landlord can evict you for failure to pay rent, or if you violate any terms of the lease or the Residential Landlord and Tenant Act. Eviction begins with a notice, and usually, an opportunity to correct the behavior that prompted the notice. In Montana, a landlord cannot evict you without a court hearing and order from a judge. If you receive an eviction notice, contact ASMSU Legal Services immediately.
MSU's Student Legal Services program is managed by the Associated Students of Montana State University (ASMSU). Please thank your student government for prioritizing legal services for MSU students!
